Overview

The Emerging Writers Group is a two-year fellowship at The Public Theater for playwrights and other generative artists at the early stages of their professional careers, with cohorts selected every two years. Members meet bi-weekly to share work in progress and attend industry panels, master classes, director meet-and-greets and financial-advice sessions. Fellows receive a $10,000 stipend, $1,000 in reimbursable ticket funds, complimentary Public Theater tickets, professional headshots, rehearsal-observation opportunities, and a culminating EWG Spotlight Series of professionally produced readings.

Eligibility

Playwrights and generative artists at early stages of professional career; NYC-based biweekly meetings; selected biennially.
