The IAMA Emerging Playwrights Lab is a one-year residency for early-career, Los Angeles-based playwrights run by IAMA Theatre Company. Lab members meet in person monthly from September through July to develop a new full-length play in a peer-guided format, receive dramaturgical support from IAMA's artistic and literary staff, and get a ticket to each mainstage production; the year culminates in readings of each member's play. Applicants must live full-time in L.A., not be full-time students, and have had no more than one commercial or LORT production; submissions for 2026-27 closed July 31, 2026.
