Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or visa holders with at least three years of professional design experience and not currently enrolled in training programs; an independent panel of designers selects finalists for recommendation letters and Zoom interviews. The 2026 cycle accepted applications February 1 to March 15, with recipients notified by Labor Day.
