New story about a new Alice. She’s lost all the joy in her life. She’s estranged from her husband, alienated from her daughter and in danger of screwing up her career. Only a trip to Wonderland, where she meets some strange (and familiar) characters, can help her re-discover her inner child and restore the life that she once had.

Seeking:

Chloe Cornwinkle:

AVAILABLE ROLE. Girl, age 10. Alice's precocious daughter. Though loved by both her parents, she's smart enough to know all is not well at home. Belt/mix.

WONDERLAND has had two previous productions. The following roles are cast (i.e. offers accepted). Auditioning performers will be considered as possible replacements, should any become necessary.

Alice Cornwinkle:

CAST. Woman, late 20s-30s. Our stylishly disenchanted heroine. Children’s book writer, now with writer’s block. Travels to Wonderland in search of her missing child. Has forgotten all the wonder of being a child. Requires an attractive, excellent actress with EXCELLENT high pop belt.

Jack / White Knight:

CAST. Male, late 20s-30s. Jack: Boyishly handsome, well-meaning but somewhat fumbling soon-to-be ex-husband of Alice. White Knight: In Wonderland. Well-meaning. Excellent high pop tenor.

Mrs. Everheart / Queen of Hearts:

CAST. Female, 40s. Everheart: Alice’s publisher. Queen: Unpredictable, seemingly ditzy ruler of Wonderland. Lots of attitude. Excellent comedic performer with excellent high pop belt needed.

Richard / Rabbit:

CAST. Male, 30s-40s. Richard: Alice’s hapless agent. Rabbit: Queen’s indentured servant. Requires a strong character actor. Character baritone.

Mad Hatter:

CAST. Female, 20s-40s. Villainous Prime Minister of Wonderland. Sexy, wild, smart and criminal, with a hard demeanor and lots of attitude. Anywhere on the spectrum from Lady Gaga to Bellatrix Lestrange (aka Helena Bonham Carter in “Harry Potter” films). Excellent high pop belt.

Caterpillar:

CAST. African American male, 40s-60s. Song & dance man. Larger than life, an entertainer. Could be anywhere from Luther Vandross to Sammy Davis, Jr. to Cornel West. Excellent R&B/soul/jazz singer.

El Gato:

CAST. Hispanic (or Caucasian) male, 20s-30s. This story’s version of the Cheshire Cat. Suave, cocky. Strong Latin pop style. Requires an excellent Latin-pop singer, high baritone/tenor.
