APPOINTMENTS

AEA members may request an appointment by emailing request to talya@wamtheatre.com with 2020 Season Auditions in the subject line. Please indicate any time limitations otherwise you will be assigned the first available slot. Deadline to submit is February 4. All AEA actors who request an appointment will receive an appointment until slots are filled. Additionally, AEA actors may be seen as walk-ins on the day of if time permits.


CONTRACT

SPT SPT 3; $400/week current min.


SEEKING

Equity actors. WAM Theatre’s 2020 Season includes a full production of ROE and rehearsed staged readings of THE THANKSGIVING PLAY. All performances will take place at Shakespeare & Company’s in Lenox, MA, ROE in Tina Packer Playhouse and THE THANKSGIVING PLAY in the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre.

Pursuant to the terms of a concession made to this employer's agreement, the employer has agreed that any Equity member who attends this call will have an opportunity to be seen.

Bring headshot and resume.
1-2 minute contemporary monologue (memorized)

Non-Equity actors will be seen as time permits and should submit a photo and resume and indicate their non-union status in their request.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of audition.

ROE (production)

first rehearsal September 1, first preview September 25th, closing October 11th. Performances run Thursday- Saturday at 730pm and Sunday at 2pm.

SARAH WEDDINGTON - Caucasian-looking, feminist Texan lawyer, ages 20s (in first act) and 40’s (in second act) and a few scenes in 60s

NORMA MCCORVEY - Caucasian-looking, funny lesbian Texan, angry and ‘desperate at heart’, ages 20s (in first act) and 40’s (in second act) and a few scenes in 60s

CONNIE GONZALEZ - Latina, an even handed Tex Mex dyke with enormous patience and few words, ages 40s (in first act) and 60s (in second act), and other roles.

FLIP BENHEM - Race open, passionate fiery folksy male preacher, age 40s, and other roles.

LINDA COFFEE - Race open, a bright, shy, socially awkward and dedicated lawyer, late 20s also plays PEGGY, a Christian reporter in her 30s and other roles.

AILEEN - African-American, down to earth, working class, nurse, aged 30s, also plays BARBARA, a no nonsense feminist in her 30s and other roles

MARY - Race open, Norma’s mother, poor a bit tawdry and a mean drunk, aged 50s, also plays MOLLY, middle-class flirting with feminism in her 50s and other roles

RON WEDDINGTON - Race open, 30s male, bright, ambitious lawyer, also plays ROBERT FLOWERS 40s passionate lawyer and other roles.

JUSTICE BLACKMUN - Caucasian-looking, 60s thoughtful and deliberate to a fault, also plays NORMA’s DOCTOR 50s/60s, brusque and superior, and other roles

EMILY - Race open, Rhonda’s feisty daughter aged 7 also plays MELISSA

ROXY MILLER-RODRIGUEZ - Afro-Latina female, 20s driven to political activism through personal experience.

THE THANKSGIVING PLAY (one week staged reading contract with three performances)

first rehearsal November 16, three performances: November 20, 21 at 7:30pm and
November 22 at 2pm.

LOGAN: Female, Caucasian-looking, high school drama teacher

JAXTON: Male, Caucasian-looking, yoga practitioner/actor. Politically correct to a fault.

ALICIA: young female, brunette - looks that would have been cast as ethnic in 1950s movies.

CADEN: Male, Caucasian-looking, awkward elementary school history teacher.
