Actors for the upcoming 2019-20 Season. See breakdown for details.

PREPARATION

Please prepare two contemporary monologues not to exceed 4 mins. Monologues should be contrasting in style and tone.

The Season has not yet been fully announced. Below is a general summary of the plays and what types are being sought for this season.

SHOW ONE - An ensemble-based story. Seeking actors of varying ages, ethnicities and gender identities - particularly seeking actresses late 30s - 40s for one role.

First Rehearsal: 8/13/19 Previews Begin: 9/6/19 Opening: 9/13/19 Closing: 10/13/19 Possible Extension through 10/20/19

SHOW TWO - A story centered around an African-American family. Seeking African-American male and female actors, ages 18-60.

First Rehearsal: 10/15/19 Previews Begin: 11/15/19 Opening: 11/22/19 Closing: 12/22/19 Possible Extension 12/29/19

SHOW THREE - HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF By Lily Padilla Directed by Marti Lyons

Your body is a weapon. So says Brandi, who starts teaching her peers self-defense after fraternity brothers assault one of her sorority sisters. Joined by two male classmates who show up in support, Brandi's peers learn how to fight back, while wrestling with their own complicated experiences and desires. But how much can a class actually teach them about protecting themselves—and asking for what they want? Visceral and provocative, How to Defend Yourself examines the impact of rape culture, on campus and beyond.
