Breakdown
This show exists because of the producers’ love and passion for the late 60s California pop/rock, particularly the vocal blend and harmonies of the style. Achieving that Vocal sound and BLEND is key. We are looking for actors with smooth, vibrato free voices that blend well together along with the ability to sing constant 4 part harmonies. Please stay away from traditional “Broadway sound” and audition material. RHONDA – early 20s, sexy, think early Elizabeth Taylor type with a good heart underneath a Vixen exterior, good comedic skills. Strong voice and dance skills. CAROLINE – early 20’s, proper, pretty, good girl. Good comedic skills. Strong voice and dancer. EVELYN – early 20’s sensible, smart, maybe a touch of a tomboy. Good comedic skills. Strong voice and dancer. LIZ - early 20’s sexy, wild, temper. Good comedic skills. Strong voice and dancer. FRANKIE – early 20’s, funny, chubby, big guy who can move, loveable. Good comedic skills. Strong voice and dancer. Drums, bass/rhythm guitar skills a plus. WEDGE -- early 20’s, sarcastic, wise ass, attractive. Good comedic skills. Strong voice and dancer. Drums, bass/rhythm guitar skills a plus. DOOGIE – early 20’s, straight-laced, smart, good looking, careful. Good comedic skills. Strong voice and dancer. Drums, bass/rhythm guitar skills a plus. RIP’S FRIENDS – 20’s, two bigger guys, constantly seen with Rip. Imposing, comedic, big mouths and presence. Strong voices and dancers. DANCERS, BEACH TYPES, ENSEMBLE – looking for fierce dancers who sing, fun types, looks, etc. Youthful, sexy, energetic, and versatile in dance styles. Technique and special skills a plus.
