Actors who sing and dance well for the upcoming 2017 Season.


PREPARATION

Please bring a photo and resume. Please have one season appropriate piece of 32 bars prepared. Additional vocal material will be upon request only. No lead sheets or transpositions. An accompanist will be provided. Songs from the current season are fine.

BREAKDOWN

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT
1st Rehearsal: 5/16/17; Runs 6/27/17 - 7/2/17

Joseph: Handsome and charismatic young leading man; mid 20s. A natural leader. Sexy and adorable with a great sense of honest and fair-play. Athletic build a plus. Pop rock bari-tenor who moves well.

Potiphar/Pharaoh: Attractive male performer late 20s – late 30s. Potiphar is an elitist bond tradesman with a trophy wife. Pharaoh is a commanding Elvis-type “star” performer with raw sexuality. Should move very well and be comfortable with 50s rock and roll vocal styles.

Jacob: Powerful and intelligent male singer/actor mid 40s-50. The loving, but commanding Patriarch of a large male clan and their wives. Bari-tenor.

Reuben: Strong male performer late 20s-30s. The oldest brother and, by default, the family leader. Very masculine, with a distinct comic flair. Strong Sari-Tenor. Must move
well. Canaan Days vocal feature; French dialect a must.

Levi: Energetic male performer 20s- 30s. Charming, athletic, and a bit of a show-off. Comfortable in Country­ Western vocal styles. One More Angel feature. Must dance.

Simeon/Butler: Quirky comic male performer 20s-30s. Butler is a comic riff on a 1930's British manservant. Intelligent, stiff, and a bit high-strung. Must sing and move well.

Napthali/Baker: Quirky comic male performer 20s-30s. A lovable clown and somewhat of a nerd. Baker is a comic riff on the traditional Second Banana. Must sing and move well.

Judah: Energetic ethnic male performer 20s-30s. A consummate entertainer with a quirky sense of humor. Jamaican dialect a plus. Should be comfortable in Calypso vocal styles. Benjamin's Calypso feature. Must sing and dance well.

Brothers: Attractive male performers 20s-30s. All types and ethnicities. Strong singer/dancers with good pantomime/comedic skills.

Narrator: Attractive star female performer mid 20s-30s. A total entertainer; fun-loving and high energy. Seeking all ethnicities. Should be comfortable in all vocal styles with a very strong contemporary belt. Should move well.

Mrs. Potiphar: Leggy and attractive trophy wife; 20s-30s. Alluring and naturally sexy. Dance feature. Should also sing well.

Wives: Attractive female performers 20s-30s. All types and ethnicities. Strong singer/dancers with good pantomime/comedic skills.


9 TO 5, THE MUSICAL
1st Rehearsal: 7/4/17 ; Runs:7/21/17 - 8/20/17

Franklin Hart: One of Consolidated's top executives and a notorious chauvinist; mid to late 40s. Athletic and intensely masculine. He is capable of faking charm, but usually shows his true colors as a lying, sexist, egotistical, bigot. Should sing well. Sari-Tenor.

Joe: A handsome young office accountant; mid 20s-30s. Genuinely nice and intensely loyal, he is smitten with Violet. Should sing well. Bari-Tenor.

Bob Enright: Attractive mid-level executive at Consolidated; mid 30s-40s. An average guy trying to climb up the corporate ladder. Featured dancer. Should also sing well. Bari-tenor.

Dick Bernly: Character actor/singer mid to late 40s. In the midst of a dangerous mid-life crisis, he has left his loving wife for someone half his age. Must sing and move well.

Dwayne Rhodes: Attractive blue collar husband to Doralee; mid 30s. Loving and supportive, he has dreams of being a Country-Western star. Must sing and move well.

Mr. Tinsworthy: Character actor/singer mid-40s-50s. Chairman of the Consolidated Board. A commanding presence, he is very savvy and oddly adventuresome. Must sing and move well. Bari-Tenor.

Attractive male performers 20s-40s. Corporate in appearance. All types and ethnicities. Featured Ensemble. Must be strong singer/dancers.

Josh Newstead: Intelligent and energetic teenage son of Violet. Non-Singing role. Minimum age of 15 years old.

Violet Newstead: Consolidated's Head Secretary and Mr. Hart's Administrative Assistant; mid to late 40s. Attractive, strong, and ambitious. Intelligent with a wry sense of humor. Mezzo-Soprano. Should move very well.

Doralee Rhodes: Hart's young and very attractive personal secretary; mid 20s-30. A sexy Southern Mountain spitfire who is living proof that there is more to a woman than just her looks. Should move well and be very comfortable in Country-Western vocal styles. Soprano.

Judy Bernly: The new girl at the firm; mid-30s. Charmingly naive and searching for personal Empowerment. Recently separated, she is insecure, but determined and hopeful. Should move extremely well; dance skills a plus. Soprano with a strong mix.

Roz Keith: The hyper-annoying office gossip queen and snitch; mid to late 40s. She has a deep unrequited love for Mr. Hart and will do anything to win his approval. Comic skills a plus. Should move and sing well. Soprano.

Margaret Pmerance: A much put-upon secretary at Consolidated. Friendly and supportive, she is perpetually in an alcoholic haze and barely functions. Should sing and move well. Mezzo Soprano.

Maria Delgado: Spirited and intelligent secretary at Consolidated; mid 20s-30s. Not afraid of a fight, she is an intensely loyal advocate for the little guy. Latina heritage. Should sing and dance well. Mezzo.

Missy Hart: The pampered and slightly dizzy wife of Franklin Hart; mid 30s-40s. Cultured and gracious, she is completely out of touch with the realities of life. Should sing and dance well. Mezzo.

Kathy: A hard-working single Mom and secretary at Consolidated; late 20s-30s. Sassy, loyal, sure to speak her mind. African-American. Should sing and move well. Soprano.

Secretaries: Attractive female performers 20s-40s. Corporate in appearance. All types and ethnicities. Must be strong singer/dancers.


SOUTH PACIFIC
1st Rehearsal: 8/22/17; Runs: 9/8/17 - 10/8/17

Emile de Beque: Wealthy, cultured, widowed French planter living in the South Pacific; mid to late 40s. The loving father of two small children, he is extremely attractive and dangerously charming. French dialect a plus. Classically trained Baritone.

Joe Cable: WWII Marine Lieutenant serving in the South Pacific; mid 20s-30s. A born leader; intelligent, brave, and romantic. He is intensely troubled with the injustice he sees in the world. Athletic build a plus. Tenor.

Luther Billis: Nefarious WWII Seabee wheller-dealer; mid 30s. Loves to be in control; he is cheerfully glib, but a bit of a coward. Comic skills a plus. Baritone who moves well.

Captain Brackett: Professional Military man; late 40s-early 50s. Frustrated with incompetence and eager to go to battle. Non-singing or dancing role.

Cmdr. Harbison: Professional Military man; mid to late 40s. A peacemaker with a wry sense of humor. Charming and attractive to the opposite sex. Non-singing or dancing role.

Stewpot: The much put upon and loyal buddy to Luther; late 20s-30s. A large and imposing man, but a bit of a teddy bear at heart. Must sing and move well.

Professor: Intelligent and energetic Mr. Fix-it; mid 20s-30s. Must sing and move well.

Lt. Buzz Adams: Marine pilot; late 20's-30s. Brave and quietly heroic, he is calm in a crisis with a wry sense of humor. Athletic build a plus. Featured Ensemble. Must sing well.

Sailor Bob McCaffrey: Quiet and methodical Radio Operator; mid 20s-30s. Featured ensemble. Must sing well.

Nellie Forbush: Naive WWII Navy Nurse; mid 20s-30s. Born in Arkansas, she is a self-proclaimed cock-eyed optimist. Idealistic and a bit of a tomboy. Mezzo-Soprano who moves very well.

Bloody Mary: Industrious Tonkinese native islander; late 30s-40s. Brashly charming and sassy, with a loud mouth. Also deeply spiritual and a fiercely loyal mother to Liat. Mezzo-Soprano. African American, Island, or Asian heritage.

Liat: Beautiful and delicate mixed race daughter to Bloody Mary; late teens-early 20s. Non-singing role spoken entirely in French. Should move very well. Island or Asian heritage.

SEUSSICAL (TYA):
1st Rehearsal: 5/29/17; Runs: 6/14/17 - 7/2/17

Cat In the Hat: Quirky male comic 20s-late 30s. Intelligent, high-strung, and wildly energetic. Mime and Celebrity impersonation skills a plus. Must sing and move well. Bari-Tenor.

Horton The Elephant: Loveable male performer mid 20s-late 30s. Trusting, sweet and kind; always willing to lend a helping hand. Slightly rounded apperance. Must sing well. Tenor.

Wickersham Brothers: Attractive male performers 20s-30s. All types and ethnicities. Strong singer/dancers with good pantomime/comedic skills. Tenor/Bari-Tenor.

Mr. Mayor: Quirky male comic mid 40s who sings and moves well. Ultra-corporate and self-involved, he considers himself a loving husband and father. Bari-tenor.

JoJo: Curious and intelligent 11 year old son of Mr. & Mrs. Mayor. Male with unchanged voice or female under 5'4 with a boyish appearance. Minimum age of 10 years old.

Gertrude McFuzz: Quirky comic actress mid 20s-30s. A lovable loser, desperately in love with Horton. Must sing and move well. Mezzo Soprano.

Mayzie LaBird: Attractive comic actress mid 20s-30s. Adorably sexy and charming. Completely self-involved; a star in her own mind. Must sing and move well. Soprano.

Sour Kangaroo: Accomplished female R&B/Gospel vocalist mid 20s-late 30s. Loud-mouthed and sassy; she is adorably grumpy. African American. Soprano with strong mix who moves well.

Mrs. Mayor: Quirky female comic mid 40s who sings and moves well. An Ultra-conservative Politico's wife; she is a loving, if harried, mother to JoJo. Mezzo-Soprano.

Bird Girls: Attractive female performers 20s-30s. All types and ethnicities. Strong singer/dancers with good pantomime/comedic skills. Soprano.
