Equity Chorus Call / Dancers:

Thursday, February 2, 2012 Chelsea Studios

10 AM – Equity female dancers who sing very well 151 West 26th Street, 6th Floor

2 PM – Equity male dancers who sing very well New York City

Please be warmed up and ready to dance when the call begins. Bring appropriate dance/character shoes (women bring character heels). Some may be asked to stay and sing after all have danced. Please prepare 16 bars of a song. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided, but may not transpose.

Please bring a photo and resume, stapled back-to-back.

Seeking Ensemble Singers and Dancers (m/f) for 2012 chorus musicals. All dates are in 2012, and are subject to change. All directors, choreographers and musical directors are TBA.

Damn Yankees: The Boston Red Sox Version Music/Lyrics: Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. Book: George Abbott & Douglass Wallop. New Book: Joe Di Pietro. 1st reh (in Ogunquit): 6/5. Runs 6/20-7/21.

Show 3: TBA. Check notice again before auditions for possible updates. 1st reh (in NYC): 7/10. Runs (in Ogunquit) 7/25-8/18. May or may not be a chorus musical.

Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 Score: Dolly Parton. Book: Patricia Resnick. 1st reh (in NYC): 8/7. Runs (in Ogunquit) 8/22-9/15.

Joe: 25-30. Junior accountant. Violet’s love interest. Handsome, sweet, charming. Baritenor.

Dwayne: Late 20s - early 30s. Doralee’s very supportive husband.

Margaret: Any age. Secretary. The office lush.

Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story Book: Alan Janes & Rob Bettinson.1st reh (in Ogunquit): 9/4. Runs 9/19-10/21.

Chorus parts include, but are not necessarily limited to…

Apollo Performer:

African American woman. Has the ability to hold the stage on her own. Key song: “Party”. Must have good comic timing and be able to act. The ability to play a musical instrument is an advantage but not a prerequisite.

African American man. Has the ability to hold the stage on his own. Key song: “Party”. Must have good comic timing and be able to act, and have the ability to play a musical instrument.

The Company:

Must be able to sing and have ability to play a multitude of roles and musical instruments.
