Lunch 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. Building is only one floor. Rehearsal Hall, indoors. Street parking only on a first come basis. Building is a sidewalk walkable 1 mile from the Amtrak Train Station that connects directly with Chicago Downtown. Building is easily accessible from highway. Entire building is ADA friendly.

OTHER DATES

Please prepare two 90-second contrasting contemporary monologues. For example, one 90-second comedic and one 90 second dramatic. Also, please bring TWO (2) printed, single page resumes with a printed headshot four-corner stapled to the back of the resume, or send in via email after digital signup. An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

NEXT ACT THEATRE 2026-27 SEASON

Next Act Theatre (NAT) produces four (4) productions per season, plus a staged reading. Each production has three weeks of rehearsal, followed by five days of tech, and three weeks of performances totaling 6 weeks of employment and 18 performances.

Renaissance Theaterworks (RTW) produces three (3) productions per season. Each production has three weeks of rehearsal, followed by four days of tech, and four weeks of performances totaling 7 weeks of employment and 20 performances.

MANFORD - 17, male, Chinese American. Intense, scrappy, runs into trouble, attacks the rim, has a ruthless crossover. Not tall. More Allen Iverson than Jeremy Lin.
CONNIE - 25, female, Chinese American, Manford's cousin, and UC Berkeley grad student. Level-headed, big picture. A Chris Paul / Klay Thompson type.
WEN CHANG - 43, male, Chinese, coach of Beijing University's men's basketball team. Observant, efficient. Favors three­ pointers over aggressive inside shots. Tim Duncan would appreciate his energy. (His English is formal but relatively unaccented.)
SAUL - 52, male, Jewish, coach of University of San Francisco's men's basketball team.
