Please prepare one monologue and one 32-measure vocal selection for musical performers. Non-musical performers may present two contrasting monologues. Please bring a picture and resume. An accompanist will be provided but will not transpose. Audition slots will be 5 minutes long.

NEVILLE CRAVEN- Archie’s younger brother, who is resentful of his position as the younger brother. A humorless, bitter man, who, as a doctor, has responsibility for Colin, Archie’s invalid son. (Baritone C-F#)

FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS- a wealthy society woman in 1930s-40s Manhattan. She believes herself to be a great soprano, though has no voice and is incapable of singing two notes in tune. He is a curmudgeon, as he feels his age entitles him to be. He is very much in love with Ethel, his wife, but doesn’t quite know what to do about their daughter, Chelsea. (THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST)
ETHEL THAYER- Ten years younger than Norman, Ethel is a spritely, active woman who loves her husband completely and who is in love with simply being alive. She is caregiver, sweetheart, and friend to Norman.

TORVALD HELMER: Nora’s’ adoring husband. A lawyer, promoted to bank manager, Torvald is handsome, moral, authoritative and hardworking. Though he seems to dominate the relationship, he cannot match his wife’s conviction for truth. Mid-late 20's
NORA HELMER: Playful, tenacious, naive and beautiful, Nora grows from a young dependent, into a woman who shows the courage and strength few can match. Wife of Torvald Helmer, mid-late 20's
DOCTOR RANK: Early-mid 30's. The Helmer's best friend. Secretly in love with Nora, he is depressive and solemn about his fate. Dr. Rank stands out as the one character in the play who is by and large unconcerned with what others think of him. THIS ROLES HAS BEEN CAST.
MRS. LINDE: A childhood friend of Nora’s, Christine is the sensible, down-to-earth voice of reason. Mid-late 20's.
NILS KROGSTAD: A lawyer who went to school with Torvald, mid-late 20's. The antagonist, who has fallen from grace. He is intelligent and compassionate, yet left a victim, desperate to change his circumstance, whatever the cost.

ARIEL: (Female 21-30) A strong-willed mermaid who longs to be human. She possesses a keen curiosity for the world both under and above the sea – much to the chagrin of her father, King Triton. Big-hearted, she’s more accepting of and delighted by others’ differences than most of her fellow merfolk, but she also has a rebellious streak that can get her into trouble. Vocal Range: Ab3-Gb5, with strong top notes.
PRINCE ERIC: (Male 25-35) Prince Eric is the adventurous human monarch who captures Ariel’s heart. Charming and sensitive in nature, he has a warm voice and demeanor that evoke his flair for romance. There is also a stubborn side to the Prince, who is determined to do whatever it takes to get what he wants – including the girl with the mysterious voice. Vocal range: B2-G4.
SEBASTIAN: (Male 25-35) The choirmaster of King Triton’s court who has a flair for the dramatic. A meticulous and uptight crab, Sebastian is ever-anxious, whether he’s conducting a concert premiere or protecting Ariel from Ursula. When he’s performing – which is almost always – he’s undeniably charismatic. He should be able to perform a broad send-up of a Caribbean accent. Vocal range: Bb2-C5
URSULA: (Female 40-60) The voluptuous and manipulative Sea Witch who is sister to King Triton. Jealous of Ariel’s voice and her beauty, she schemes to destroy Ariel and steal her brother’s throne. Brassy, manipulative, and vindictive, she relies on her larger-than-life confidence that to achieve her evil intentions. Vocal Range: Eb3-C5, with strong belt.
KING TRITON: (Male 35-45) King of the Sea and a harried single father to seven girls, struggles to balance his political and paternal powers. A widower, Triton is as fond of his daughters as he is frustrated with their teenage angst. Even when unsure of his parenting technique, he is a tender patriarch who becomes a royal force to be reckoned with when Ariel’s safety and happiness is threatened by his sister, the Sea Witch Ursula. Vocal range: Ab2-F4.
GRIMSBY: (Male 35-60). Grimsby is Prince Eric’s prim and proper valet. Rigid in bearing and personality, he is constantly trying to guide Prince Eric toward the throne and a suitable bride fit for a royal marriage. Under his stern demeanor, Grimsby truly is fond of Eric, whom he worries about and attends to as though his own son. Vocal range: C3-C4.
FLOUNDER: (Male 21-25) Flounder is Ariel’s sincere and sensitive best friend who rarely leaves her side. A spunky fish with a sweet sense of humor, he can be awkward and anxious around his unrequited crush. Vocal range: A2-G4.
SCUTTLE: (Male 30-45). Scuttle is the know-it-all seagull who serves as Ariel’s expert on all things human. Garrulous and off-beat, Scuttle’s eccentricities are more endearing than aggravating. Strong character actor and dancer, with great comedic timing. vocal range: C3-G4.
FLOATSAM/JETSAM: (Male, 25-35) Strong comedic chops and dancing; should be played with a slimy feel; Ursula’s eel minions and spies; true partners in crime, both are cunning, manipulative, intelligent, and evil. Vocal range: B2-C5.
CHEF LOUIS: (Male 30-40) The hot-tempered, French, over the top head chef of the palace; particularly fond of fish dishes. Should be played zany; comfortable dancer; true character voice. Also plays Pilot. Vocal range: Bb2-A4.
ENSEMBLE: (Males & Females, 22-35) Excellent dancers in both ballet and jazz; should have strong contemporary musical theater voices; looking for diversity and unique performers; will play a range of maids, gulls, princesses, lagoon animals, sea creatures, merisisters, chefs, sailors, and more.

LLOYD DALLAS: The director of the play, Nothing On. Temperamental. One third of a Lloyd–Poppy–Brooke love triangle.
GARRY LEJEUNE: An American actor who never finishes a sentence. Always is completing sentences with, you know... Easily fired up, repeatedly tries to attack Freddy after believing that Dotty was cheating on him with Freddy. Speech affectations disappear onstage but are ever present offstage. Dating Dotty.
BROOKE ASHTON: A young inexperienced American actress. Pays no attention to other performers, either in performance or backstage. She seems as though she is not really present – like she is somewhere else inside her head. Is always losing her contact lenses. One-third of a Lloyd–Poppy–Brooke love triangle.
POPPY NORTON-TAYLOR: American Stage Manager. Emotional and over-sensitive, and envious of Brooke, whom she understudies. Carrying Lloyd's child. One-third of a Lloyd-Poppy-Brooke love triangle.
FREDERICK FELLOWES: An American actor with a serious fear of violence and blood. Gets nosebleeds easily. Often questions the meaning of his lines and moves. Blames himself often for things going wrong.
BELINDA BLAIR: Cheerful and sensible, a reliable American actress. She may have feelings for Freddy.
TIM ALLGOOD: An over-worked American Assistant Stage Manager. Understudies Selsdon and Freddy.
SELSDON MOWBRAY: An elderly alcoholic Englishman who hides his bottles onstage. If he is not in sight while rehearsing, the stage crew must find him before he passes out. Is hard of hearing when he wants to be.
