New Century Theatre 2012 – Equity Principal Auditions by APPOINTMENT in MA

Northampton MA LOA (approval/salary level pending; 2011 weekly minimum: $405).

Please prepare a brief, contemporary comic monologue, two minutes or less.

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled back-to-back.

All dates are in 2012. All roles are available unless otherwise specified. For pre-cast roles, auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary.

CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION by Annie Baker. Ellen Kaplan, Director. First rehearsal 6/5; Opens 6/14, closes 6/23.

Marty - Age 55, she is the instructor of the adult Creative Drama Class.

James - Age 60, married to Marty.

Schultz - Age 48, A carpenter who lives in the local condo complex. He is recently divorced.

Theresa - Age 35, A former actress. Recently moved to Vermont from New York.

Lauren - Age 16, a high school student who is thinking of studying theater in college and pursuing it as a career.

RED by John Logan. Sam Rush, Director. First rehearsal 6/19; Opens 6/28, closes 7/7.

The role of Mark Rothko is available. The role of Ken is cast.

AULD LANG SYNE by Jack Neary. Jack Neary, Director. First rehearsal 7/3; Opens 7/12 closes 7/21.

Mary Antonelli and Joe LaCedra: Both characters from South Boston, Mary and Joe are the same age, only a few weeks separating them in late middle age (59-64).

THE QUALITY OF LIFE by Jane Anderson. Ed Golden, Director. First rehearsal 7/17; Opens 7/26 closes 8/4.

Neil - From California. Late middle age - married to Jeanette - dying of cancer.

Dinah - Late middle age. Married to Bill - from a midwest, religious, red state.

Jeanette – CAST. Middle age. From California. Very blue state liberal. Loves Neil. Dinah is her cousin.
