RAÚL RIVERA (Male, mid 30s, Cuban-American): Lawyer for Sacker-Lowell. Wry, playful, ruthless.

THOMAS EVERSON, JR (Male, 50s, White): “Tom.” Chief Executive of Everson Steel and United, the erstwhile manufacturing behemoth and still-member of the Dow Industrial Average. The steel business has fallen on hard times, and Everson Jr continues to see through the diversification of the company begun under his father’s regime. Though not quite the brilliant businessman his father was, Everson Jr makes up for it with heart and in loyalty.

JACQUELINE BLOUNT (Female, late 20s, African-American): “Jackie.” Lawyer for Lausanne & Co. Harvard Law. Harvard Business. Appealing, ambitious. With balls and charm to boot.

GIUSEPPI ADDESSO (Male, mid 40s, White): “Joe.” US Attorney of New York, Southern District. Ambitious. Italian-American.

JUDY CHEN (Female, early 30s, Chinese-American): A writer. Thoughtful, penetrating, and undaunted by the titans about whom she is writing.

AMY MERKIN (Female, 40s, White): Robert’s wife. Merkin’s business school sweetheart. A financial wizard in her own right. Merkin’s deepest collaborator.

THE CHINESE LADY by Lloyd Suh Stiemke Studio (LORT D) Director: May Adrales

AFONG (Female, early 20s-early 50s, Chinese): The first woman from China to set foot in the United States. Born in China in 1820, Afong was sold into service to traders in New York and on display in side shows throughout the United States over a 45-year period.

ATUNG (Male, 20s-40s, Chinese): Manservant to New York traders and translator for Afong.

PIP (Female, 34, White/Latinx): Fran and Bob’s oldest child. An education department bureaucrat.

MARK (Male, 32, White/Latinx): Fran and Bob’s second oldest child. An I.T. specialist.

BEN (Male, 28, White/Latinx): Fran and Bob’s next oldest child. A financial services worker.

ROSIE (Female, 19, White/Latinx): Fran and Bob’s youngest child, who doesn’t know who she is or what she wants to be yet.
