Breakdown

Once a free and open society, Vienna is now bitterly divided between high morals and the greed of commerce. Disguised as a monk, the Duke Vincentio wanders the land, prying into the daily lives of his subjects, desperate to learn their passions and concerns. When the Duke’s deputy, young Lord Angelo, sentences Claudio to death, the virtue and purity of Isabella—a passionate young nun—is the price to pay for her brother’s life. We learn through the Duke that mercy, understanding and compassionate leadership are the keys to restoring harmony to any society.

Please note that we will be assembling an ethnically diverse cast.

This production will perform in battery park/castle clinton and brooklyn bridge park.
