BREAKDOWN

ABOUT
Days after 9/11, the few surviving employees of an investment firm based near the top of the Twin Towers gather in a New Jersey warehouse. Shell-shocked and grief-stricken, they work around the clock to reconstruct what’s left of their company with determination, pen and paper, and a temp who just wants to help. But as they struggle to recoup their losses, they wonder: what does getting “back to normal” really mean?

SEEKING

John
50s. Born and raised New Yorker, outer borough. Financial middle manager. Thought by now he’d be further along in his career, but, well, he is where he is. He is overwhelmed and lost but trying to lead. All ethnicities strongly encouraged.

Allegra
30s. Extremely good at her job. One rank below John but her star is on the rise, so she acts as if they’re professional equals. Uses defensiveness & passive aggressiveness to hide her emptiness and anger. All ethnicities strongly encouraged.

Margaret
22. Recently graduated from a not-quite-Ivy-League school. Eager, earnestly professional. She’s very capable but doesn’t have direction in her life. Yet. But she thinks that she does. Of course. Pleasant, a go-getter, and wants desperately to be part of the team. All ethnicities strongly encouraged.

Cathy
40s - 50s. Has worked extremely hard to get to where she is, and is not going to let go of an inch. One rank above John but has taken on the responsibilities of chief executive. She dives deeper into her hole to protect herself. Extremely guarded. All ethnicities strongly encouraged.
