Boldly re-imagined and retold from the perspective of the dinosaurs, “Jurassic Parq: The Broadway Musical” is an unflinching meditation on gender, sexual and racial identity in an evolving landscape, destined to stun you with its Importance and Themes. Chaos is unleashed upon the not-so-prehistoric world when one dinosaur in a clan of females spontaneously turns male. The mutation spawns a chain reaction of identity crises, forcing the dinosaurs to question the very facts of life they’ve held as truth. There will be uncertainty. There will be blood. There will be shake weights. But above all, there will be Truth.

Seeking Ensemble Singers (M/F):

Notes:

  • The nature of this show is to honestly and truthfully present an outrageous idea to the audience. Appropriate actors must be comfortable presenting atypical material without comment or fear ... outrageous circumstances presented honestly and truthfully is the goal.
  • Although all of the Dinosaurs are female, there will be men and women playing female dinosaurs. All actors must be strong movers, and willing eager to wear unitards.
  • The majority of the cast will be on a chorus contract with specialties. Seeking singer/actors, any race, age or gender to be the ensemble and understudy principals. Ability to play instruments an enormous plus (please make sure instrument played is on your resume).

Ensemble characters include:

Velociraptor of Innocence:

20s, any ethnicity/type. Preferably played by a man. An innocent. New to the tribe, and hungry for truth. Solid tenor.

Velociraptor of Faith:

20s – 30s, any ethnicity/type. Preferably played by a man. The tribe’s spiritual leader. Rock tenor. Instrumental ability a plus.

Velociraptor of Science:

Any gender/ethnicity/type/age. Faith’s twin sister. Could be Betty White or Justin Bieber. Exiled for heresy. Must rap. Instrumental ability a plus.

T-Rex 2:

Young and beautiful female, any ethnicity. Spontaneously turns male ... because of the frog DNA. Best friends with T-Rex 1. Must have strong mix/belt. Instrumental ability a plus.

Mime-A-Saurus:

Any gender, any type. Tortured, with a history of abuse, Mime-a-saurus represents the subtle distinction between Nietzschean existentialism and the unintentional yet unavoidable path towards Wagnerian anti-Semitism. A mime. Extremely good physical comedian.

Chorusasaurus:

Seeking two singer/actors, any race, age or gender for ensemble / principal understudies. Ability to play instruments an enormous plus (please make sure instrument played is on your resume).

Pianoasaurus:

CAST (with the show’s musical director). The piano player.
