Seeking
HEDWIG: Available role. Male (20’s – 30’s) A transexual (Male-to-female) with a blowout rock persona (a blend of Freddy Mercury/Madonna/Siouxsie Sioux). Moves like a rock God, and sings with incredible power. Emotionally and physically cut and bruised from a lifetime of destructive events (for example, she is the result of a botched up sex change). She has grace, power, but it all comes from a well of pain, with a veneer of aloofness. Her voice is liquid. German accent. Strong rock tenor.
YITZHAK: Available role. Female (20’s – 30’s) Attractive as male or female, masculine, also a transexual (Female to Male). Hedwig's backup singer, and occasional love interest. They are in constant conflict. YITZAK has a roaring voice that sometimes outshines Hedwig, and thus part of the conflict. Rough-looking, motorcycle riding guy. Marlon Brando/James Dean/Twisted Sister look. Eastern European accent. Rock-belting high alto. Must be able to sing tight harmonies.
