Seeking
THREE EQUITY ACTORS M/F. All actors may perform in one or both shows. Also seeking Equity male and female actors for possible (emergency) replacements.
Seeking local Florida actors as there is no housing for out-of-town performers.
Preparation
Bring TWO pic/resumes.
Prepare a 1-minute comedic monologue suitable to the period for The Royal Family
Prepare 2 short (1 min) contrasting songs, 1 of which must be classical music theatre (i.e. Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Lowe etc.)
Be familiar with a song from She Loves Me

Breakdown
Note: Seeking Local Florida area actors as there is no housing for out-of-state performers.
Contract dates are May 19th through July 26th
The Royal Family opens June 25th and She Loves Me opens July 3rd. The shows run in rep. Thursday – Sunday with two shows on Thursday and Saturday.

AMALIA BALASH
Any Ethnicity - Female, 28-40 yrs. old. The eager new employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Despite being a skilled saleswoman, she easily becomes intimated and nervous. Attractive but not necessarily “pretty”, bright, intellectual and a lover of literature. Lyric Soprano, Range: C4 - B5. Be familiar with “Vanilla Ice Cream”.
MAITRE D’
Any Ethnicity – Male, 40’s. Character actor of any physical type, but helpful if an unusual type i.e. tall/slim/short/heavy. Good mover a plus. Pompous. Sings “Romantic Atmosphere” as well as other ensemble numbers. Tenor. Be familiar with “Romantic Atmosphere”. This actor may also play Herbert Dean in The Royal Family.
STEVEN KODALY
Any Ethnicity - Male, 35-45 yrs. old. A handsome, well respected employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. He is considered dapper and charming but he is more of a shallow womanizer Range: B2 - A4. Be familiar with “Ilona”. This actor may also play Herbert Dean in The Royal Family.

HERBERT DEAN
Any Ethnicity – A third rate actor who’s made a career for himself by riding on the coattails of his much-more talented relatives. Sees himself as appearing much younger than he does. Male, 40’s – 50’s.
FANNY CAVENDISH
Any Ethnicity – THIS ROLE IS ALREADY CAST – Matriarch of a powerful acting family. To Fanny nothing is more important than the stage. (It’s a source of pride that her husband had the good sense to die after the show in which he was performing had closed.) She’s recovering from a serious illness while preparing to go out on tour once again. Female, 60’s.

Any Ethnicity – Male, open age range. The houseman. Very busy, harried and a bit fussy.
McDERMOTT
Any Ethnicity – Male, open age range. The Cavendish’s personal trainer in boxing and fencing. Fit, energetic, perhaps speaks with a Scottish accent.
GUNGA
Any Ethnicity – Male, open age range. Tony’s assistant/body guard from another land. Speaks no English. One brief scene.

Directions:
FAU is located on Glades Road between I-95 and U.S. 1 /Federal Hwy.
If you are coming from the west: Take the first main entrance (left) off of Glades to FAU (NW 10th Ave /West University Dr./Broward Ave.) .
If you are coming from the east: You will bypass the first entrance on Glades (NW 13th/ East University Dr./ FAU Blvd.) and take the second entrance on your right. (NW 10th Ave /West University Dr./Broward Ave.) .

After you have entered the campus: Take West University Dr. to Indian River St. Turn right on Indian River St. Go to the first 4-way stop and turn left on Brevard Ct. You will see the Living Room Theaters ahead and on your right. Park in front of the theatres. DO NOT PARK IN ANY OF THE FACULTY OR RESIDENCE LOTS OR YOU WILL RECEIVE A TICKET. After you park, you will walk past the Theaters on their east (right-hand as you face them) side. The next building on your left will be the Performing Arts bldg. Enter there and go past the Art Gallery. Wait in the lobby and someone will be with you shortly
