Breakdown
Bar Owner: This character is an African American woman, over 40 years old. Actor should be familiar with stand up comedy. This is a non-singing role. This notice is for an understudy. Please prepare a 2 minute opener, as in stand up.
Bar Tender/Dance Captain: This character is a young man, 6' or taller, boyish face, very athletic and toned. Actor should be comfortable with hip-hop dancing. This is a non-singing role. Additional duties will be staging choreography and assisting director in venues while on tour.
Please prepare a one minute dance, a CD player will be provided.
Tina: Female. Rock singer. Soprano. This character is a bit of white trash, short (5'4"), thin, has nervous ticks, and partially drug induced. Please prepare 32 measures of a rock ballad or uptempo hard rock song.
Devon: Female. Rock singer. Extremely tall (5’10″ and up), gangly. This character has an instinctive motherly quality, and is a bit uptight. Mezzo. Please prepare 32 measures of a rock ballad or uptempo hard rock song.
Grace: Female. Rock singer. This character is chunky, looks a bit dangerous in a friendly way. Pittsburgh accent-appropriate. Mezzo. Please prepare 32 measures of a rock ballad or uptempo hard rock song.
Penny: Female. Rock singer, belter. This character is full figured. Pleasantly grouchy. Contralto (E3). Please prepare 32 measures of a rock ballad or uptempo hard rock song.
