Seeking:

Ensemble Singers:

Men and women. All ethnicities; 20s – 40s. Some dance skills a plus. Ensemble members may cover principal roles:

Lieutenant Frank Cioffi:

Male, 40s, baritone. Local Boston detective who is also a musical theatre aficionado and community theatre ham. Aside from being exceptionally good at his job, he has also aspired to be a musical theatre performer his entire life.

Carmen Bernstein:

Fmale, mid-40s – mid 60s, Alto/Belt. Brassy Broadway producer. She is aggressive and determined. Terrific comedic actress who sings well.

Niki Harris:

Female, late 20s – 30s, Soprano. Pretty, sweet, too-good-to-be-true ingénue. Niki is a chorus girl/understudy in the show-within-a-show during its Boston tryout, but aspires to one day make it on Broadway. She meets and falls in love with Lt. Frank Cioffi, who is investigating a murder at the theatre. Must have a legit soprano voice, good comic timing, and be a very good dancer.

Georgia Hendricks:

Female, 30s – early 40s, Alto/Mezzo. The female half of our songwriting team. She is the lyricist for the show-within-a-show and her writing partner, Aaron Fox, is also her husband, from whom she is separated. Takes on the role of leading lady when the star is murdered. Must sing well and be able to dance.

Aaron Fox:

Male, 40s, Baritenor. The male half of our song writing team, he is the composer, separated from his writing partner and wife, Georgia. He’s a sexy and charming ladies man.

Christopher Belling:

Male, 40s – 60s, Baritone. The egomaniacal and temperamental English director. Must have sharp and witty comic timing.

Daryl Grady:

Male, 30s. He is the theatre critic for the local Boston newspaper, and he enjoys using the power he has to make or break shows during their out-of-town tryouts.

Johnny Harmon:

Male, 40s – 50s. He is the stage manager of the show-within-a-show. A gruff, but loveable character man who keeps the company in line and on their toes throughout the rehearsal process.

Oscar Shapiro:

Male, mid-40s – mid 60s, Baritone. He is the general manager. An agreeable if slightly gruff man, he is always looking for any angle to find money. Requires a good comic actor who sings.

Bobby Pepper:

Male, 20s – 30s, Baritone. He is the choreographer and charming lead dancer. Strong singer who dances well.

Bambi Bernstein:

Female, 20s – 30s, Alto/Belter. Performer in the chorus and daughter of Carmen. She is hungry to work her way up to leading performer. Many think she was only hired because of her mother. Excellent dancer and comedienne who sings well.

Sidney Bernstein:

Male, 50s – 60s. The producer of an out-of-town flop. Sidney is tough and self-serving. Married to Carmen. Character actor with comic timing.
