SEEKING:

MARK COHEN: 20s–early 30s. Tenor (C3–A4). An aspiring documentary filmmaker and the narrator of the story. Intelligent, observant, compassionate, and often caught between participating in life and documenting it.

ROGER DAVIS: Late 20s–early 30s. Rock Tenor (F2–A4). A struggling songwriter and former guitarist recovering from addiction. Guarded, brooding, passionate, and deeply romantic.

MIMI MÁRQUEZ: Early 20s. Mezzo/Belter (Eb3–E5). A dancer and neighbor living with HIV. Sensual, resilient, vulnerable, and hopeful.

TOM COLLINS: 20s–40s. Baritone (F2–A4). A professor and philosopher. Warm, idealistic, intelligent, and deeply compassionate.

ANGEL DUMOTT SCHUNARD: 20s-30s. Tenor (C3–A4). A street percussionist and drag performer. Charismatic, generous, joyful, and full of life.

MAUREEN JOHNSON: 20s–30s. Mezzo/Belter (F3–E5). A fearless, eccentric performance artist. Confident, unpredictable, magnetic, and unapologetically bold.

JOANNE JEFFERSON: Late 20s–30s. Mezzo/Alto (G3–E5). An Ivy League-educated lawyer. Intelligent, composed, ambitious, and deeply caring beneath a controlled exterior.

BENJAMIN COFFIN III: 20s–30s. Baritone (Bb2–F#4). Former roommate of Mark, Roger, and Collins; now their landlord. Charismatic, polished, conflicted, and pragmatic.
