BREAKDOWN

The Lady Dare Bellingdon (mid-20’s) Attractive and privileged, but self-aware enough to know that she is spoiled. She yearns for something else, something more.

Major Sir Ronald Clive, D.S.O. (mid-30’s) Successful and handsome, with political aspirations and a first-rate Cambridge education.

Lord Bellingdon (late 50’s-60’s) - Dare’s wealthy father, steeped in tradition but not without compassion.

The Hon. Mrs. Tremayne (mid-30’s) Dry, sophisticated, widowed friend of Dare’s, her disappointment in her marriage
has made her wise and perhaps a bit weary.

Daniels (50’s - 70’s) The Bellingdon’s butler.

Mrs. Robinson (50’s- 60’s) Mr. Smith’s sturdy and welcoming landlady.

Tom Smith (early 30’s) Well-educated and bold, with a recent history of illness and hardship that has softened his world-view. His recent past of deprivation has sparked his passion for politics, and while he borders on self-righteousness he is not without humor and self-awareness.
