Prepare any combination of material as follows:
- 1 song and 1 monologue
- 2 contrasting songs
- 2 contrasting monologues.
Material should not exceed 5 minute audition time slot.

Pippin FIRST REHEARSAL: 8/28/2018 OPENING: 9/21/2018 CLOSING: 10/7/2018
Leading Player: The ultimate 'ring leader.' Masterfully charming and manipulative, the Leading Player is a chameleon of sorts. Guides Pippin through his own story and tries to intervene at the end. Excellent dancer and singer. Obsessed with putting on a great show for the audience. All gender identities considered.
Pippin: Our story's young and confused protagonist. He is longing to find his purpose in life. Naive, innocent, and discontent. Eventually finds love, and meaning in life, with Catherine and Theo. Male identifying tenor, late teens to early 20’s.
Charles: Pippin's demanding father. As the King of the Holy Roman Empire, Charlemagne is more comfortable wielding a sword than breaking bread. He wears his years with great pride. Male identifying baritone, 50’s-60’s.
Lewis: Pippin's not-too-bright half-brother. Male identifying actor.
Fastrada: Pippin's conniving stepmother. A seductress, who is no stranger to deceit and betrayal, she is sexy and smart. Skilled at using her sexual appeal to benefit her and her son. Female identifying mezzo, 30’s-40’s.
Berthe: Pippin's saucy grandmother. A brassy broad full of wisdom, grace, and sass. She tries to help Pippin and encourages him to live his life to the fullest. Female identifying alto, 60’s-70’s.
Catherine: A widow and mother. She is a beautiful and a hopeless romantic who possesses graceful elegance. Encounters Pippin at his lowest point and eventually falls in love with him. Female identifying mezzo, 20’s-30’s.

Tracy Turnblad: Our story's unsuspecting protagonist, she is large and in charge. Confident, talented, and incredibly determined. A romantic with a good heart and desire to cut up the dance floor. Always on top of the latest trends. Female identifying mezzo/belter, adult to play teens.
Corny Collins: The charismatic host of the Corny Collins' Show. Good looking and smooth talking, he is a genuinely nice guy both on and off camera. Male identifying tenor, late 20’s to 30’s.
Edna Turnblad: Tracy's big and blonde mother. She is a working housewife who has lost her confidence and dream to be a plus-size clothing designer. Boisterous and commanding. Male identifying tenor to play female, tenor, 40’s to 60’s.
Penny Pingleton: Tracy's best friend and dorky sidekick. Not the brightest girl, but she has good intentions. Bursting to get free of her mother's dominating control, she falls for Seaweed with childlike curiosity. Female identifying soprano, adult to play teens.
Velma Von Tussle: Amber's mother and the director of Corny Collin's show. She is a devious taskmaster and snobby racist. The former Miss Baltimore Crabs will go to any length to ensure her daughter is the next big thing. Female identifying alto, 40’s to 50’s.
Amber Von Tussle: Link's girlfriend and Tracy's nemesis. She is pretty, thin, shallow, snobby, and racist. Can't dance but is expected to win Miss Baltimore Hairspray. Always feels the need to be the center of attention. Female identifying mezzo, adult to play teens.
Link Larkin: The star heartthrob on Corny Collins' show. He is extremely attractive and talented. Hoping to get his big break with a recording contract, he unexpectedly falls for Tracy. Male identifying baritone, adult to play teens.
Seaweed J. Stubbs: Tracy's classmate and friend, who is discriminated against due to his skin color. He is cocky but surprisingly lovable. Talented in song and dance. He falls for Penny. Male identifying tenor, adult to play teens.
Motormouth Maybelle: Seaweed and Little Inez's mother, she also appears as the Guest DJ on the Corny Collin's Negro Day show. Big, blonde, beautiful and proud of it. She is sassy and confident. Female identifying mezzo/belter, 40’s to 50’s.
Wilbur Turnblad: Tracy's simpleminded and kind father. He owns a joke shop and supports his daughter despite everything else. He also loves his wife, Edna, very much. Male identifying baritone, 50’s to 60’s.
Female Authority Figure: To play several roles, including Penny's strict mother. Female identifying mezzo, 40’s to 50’s.

Big Moe: An authoritative, stern, and wise Moe who is single and very large. Male identifying singer, 20’s to 60’s.
Eat Moe: A hungry Moe who is merry, optimistic, cheery and overweight. Male identifying singer, 20’s to 60’s.
Four-eyed Moe: The bespectacled, clear-sighted leader of the group who is irreverent and magnetic. Male identifying singer, 20’s to 60’s.
Little Moe: A small, single Moe who likes his chicks large. He is sensitive to his size and very short-tempered. Male identifying singer, 20’s to 60’s.
No Moe: A straight-laced, conservative, and high-classed Moe with a sense of humor. Male identifying singer, 20’s to 60’s.
Nomax: Gloomy young man who is depressed about his girlfriend issues. A naive, self-absorbed, deadbeat alcoholic who needs to get his life together. Male identifying singer, 20’s to 30’s.
Kiss Me, Kate FIRST REHEARSAL: 4/23/2019 OPENING: 5/17/2019 CLOSING: 6/9/2019
Fred Graham/Petruchio: Actor, director and producer of the play within the play The Shrew and plays Petruchio—he has the lion’s share of Shakespearean dialogue. He is also Lilli’s ex-husband. Male identifying baritone, commanding presence, 30’s to 40’s.
Lilli Vanessi/Katharine: Actress of stage and screen. She is proud and haughty, much like her character Katherine in The Shrew, but also vulnerable. Ex-wife of Fred and engaged to Harrison Howell. Female identifying strong soprano, 30’s to 40’s.
Lois Lane/Bianca: A nightclub singer in her first featured role on the stage. She is the quintessential airhead ingénue but with lots of charisma and charm. Female identifying alto/belter, 20’s to 30’s.
Bill Calhoun/Lucentio—A ne’er-do-well actor who has a bit of a gambling problem. Is a Broadway hoofer, so he should move well. Male identifying baritone/baritenor, 20’s to 30’s.
Harrison Howell/Harry Trevor/Baptista: Howell is a dignified gentleman from Georgia, very political, former general. He is engaged to Lilli Vanessi. Doubles as Harry Trevor/Baptista, Katharine’s father, and Baptista, who has mainly Shakespearian dialogue. Male identifying actor who sings, 50’s to 60’s.
First Man/Stagehand: The archetypical gangster. Must move well. Doubles as stagehand. Male identifying baritone, 30’s to 50’s.
Second Man/Stagehand: Gangster who is a bit more reserved and has a drier wit. Must move well. Doubles as stagehand. Male identifying baritone, 30’s to 50’s.
Hattie—Lilli’s dresser and confidante. Must be a strong singer with presence and charisma. Female identifying mezzo/belter, 20’s to 60’s.
Paul/Riley/Hortensio: Fred’s dresser. Should dance very well and sing. Doubles as Riley, aide to Howell, and Hortensio, second suitor. Male identifying baritone, 20’s to 50’s.
