Appts. will be given in 10-minute time slots. To schedule an audition appointment, email Matt Hosking at mhosking@centralsquaretheater.org Equity members without appts. will be seen throughout the audition day, as time permits. Non-equity actors are encouraged to sign up for auditions the day before (Monday, 9/17).

SEEKING

Actors of all genders, races, abilities for CLOUD 9 at the Nora Theatre.

Local area actors are strongly encouraged to audition.

PREPARATION

One monologue not longer than 2 minutes and a scene from the play which will be provided at time of sign up. Bring picture and resume.

Seeking: Actors will not necessarily be playing roles of their identified race or gender

CLIVE, a colonial administrator in Victorian Africa, the controlling and yet very unaware family patriarch

BETTY, his submissive wife yearning for another man

JOSHUA, his disobedient servant who struggles to be what the family wants him to be

EDWARD, his son who can’t live up to Clive’s expectations

MAUD ELLEN, his mother-in-law

ELLEN, Edward’s governess who is hopelessly in love with Betty

HARRY BAGLEY, an explorer, pansexual

MRS SAUNDERS, a widow

Act 2 - 25 years later - all actors double with someone in the first act

BETTY, different actor than Act 1

EDWARD, different actor than Act 1

VICTORIA, Betty's daughter - in Act 1 played by a puppet

MARTIN, Victoria's husband

LIN, a friend of Victoria’s

CATHY, Lin’s daughter age 5

GERRY, Edward’s lover
