Breakdown

MEDEA—25-30. The witch. Dominant, clever, alluring, dangerous, earthy. Fiercely loving. Specialty: forbidden potions. An illegal immigrant and now-single mother of two young boys, she fights both to reclaim her honor and the eyes of the younger man who left her.
Spanish fluency.

JASON—20’s. Medea’s ex. Virile, strong, impassioned, open, loving, playful, and unashamed. He overflows with a lust for pleasure, and still strives to be an affectionate father.
Spanish fluency.

LA VIEJA—50-100. Medea’s life-long maid, servant, cook, and caregiver to the children. Single, cynical, smart, crude. Plays mother to both Medea and the two boys. She’ll share her vast wisdom whether you want to listen to it or not.
Spanish fluency.

AEGEUS—50’s. Rich and unhappy. His time is running out and he is desperate to have children. Aging, lonely, horny, with his marriage stuck in a rut. Physically and emotionally harmless, his masculine ego needs stroking.
Spanish fluency.

CREON—40’s. A lucrative business kingpin and the father of Jason’s new lover. Honest, direct, calm, sharp, professional, well-groomed, well-spoken. He holds influence over a mob-like social network, one that he uses to ostracize Medea.
Spanish fluency.
