BREAKDOWN

Equity encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.

Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.

Holding/Audition room information:

The audition room can accommodate no more than 52 individuals at a time.

ALMOST, MAINE is an ensemble play, using 4-6 actors who are capable of playing various female and male identifying characters. All the characters are residents of the fictional, rural town of Almost, Maine. They are hard-working, down to earth, and in various stages of falling in and out of love. They are tough and charming people, both off-beat and recognizable. Seeking a cast with range, humor and heart.

Seeking:

All of the characters are rural Americans in their 20s, 30s & 40s. They are simple and smart, honest, dignified and hard-working.

Male #1 - most likely small or thin, will likely play Pete, Jimmy, Steve, Randy, Dave Female #1 - will likely play Ginette, Sandrine, Gayle, Deena, Hope

Female #2 - will likely play Glory, Waitress, Marvalyn, Shelly, Marci, Rhonda

Male #2 - will likely play East, Lendall, Chad, Phil, Man
