A child and a sawdust-filled rabbit embark on adventures and discover love is the greatest force in the universe.
The Velveteen Rabbit and Some Enchanted Evening will be alternating weeks. The Velveteen Rabbit performances are Apr. 16-18 & Apr. 30-May 2, 2021. Show times are 7 PM on Fridays, and 1 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
For those not yet ready to come into the theatre: The Playhouse will provide a livestream on opening night, Friday, Apr. 16, 2021, and will offer video-on-demand Apr. 23-25 & May 7-9, 2021.

As we get older, we tend to let go of the imaginative stories we tell and focus more on the reality of what is currently going on in our lives. Des Moines playhouse opened their production of 'The Velveteen Rabbit, by Patrick Flynn, based on the book by Margery Williams, on April 16.
