New Year’s Eve in Des Moines has meant sold-out Des Moines Symphony pops concerts at the Civic Center. This year, plan early and ring in 2012 with the smooth sounds and classic hits of Motown, as sung by Spectrum.
The masterful R&B quartet will perform songs of yesteryear like “I Heard It Through the Grapevine,” “My Girl” and more—all accompanied by your Des Moines Symphony. Those lush, original signature swells will be performed by dozens of string players, and brass fanfares will back hits like “Just My Imagination” and “Stand By Me.” More than 70 professional, local musicians will dazzle with a full, symphonic sound—the way these classic songs were meant to be heard.
