RED RIDING HOOD to Continue 'Friday Funday' at DM Playhouse
Join the Des Moines Community Playhouse on Nov. 11 for "Red Riding Hood." This story is part of the 2016-17 season of Friday Funday, a creative participatory story theatre program for children ages 4-6. Performances are at The Playhouse, Friday, Nov. 11, at 9:30 AM, 10:45 AM, and 1:30 PM.
Shows are approximately 45 minutes in length. The performance at 10:45 AM will have audio description, provided by IRIS. Admission is $6 per person, adults and children. November's featured story is "Red Riding Hood." Little Red Riding Hood is taking food and flowers to her poor, sick granny at her cottage in the forest. You can bet that the big bad wolf isn't far behind. Will Little Red listen to her mother and stay on the path?
Friday Funday performances are held monthly, September-May. This season features a variety of stories, including "Red Riding Hood," Nov. 11; "Hansel and Gretel," Dec. 9; "Puss in Boots," Jan. 13; "The Mitten," Feb. 10; "The Ugly Duckling," Mar. 3; "Stone Soup," Apr. 7; and "Cinderella," May 12.
The Playhouse is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the US. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
