Photo Flash: Combined Efforts' LEAP! Variety Show Adds Acts for Show Next Week

By: Feb. 24, 2017

Combined Efforts (combinedefforts.org) will present "LEAP!," its second annual variety show, on Monday, Feb. 27, 7:30 p.m. at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA).

Hosted by Chris Okiishi and directed by Michael Penick, "LEAP!" will feature the creativity of several Combined Efforts groups who will be joined by other local performers.

Two new acts have been added to the LEAP! lineup for the Feb. 27 show.

· Cast members from City Circle Acting Company's recent production of the rock musical "Next to Normal" will join other "LEAP!" performers in a show finale number.

· University of Iowa students in the group F.I.S.T. will demonstrate staged-combat.

Featured Combined Efforts groups include the Theatre Company, Men's Choir, Dance Company, Writers' Group, and Expressive Visual Artists (with an art show in the CCPA lobby).

These groups will be joined by local performers including:

· Broadway performer Kristen Behrendt DeGrazia

· The dilEmma's (Iowa City City High School students Emma Arp and Emma Myers-Verhage)

· Ballroom dancers Nora Garda and Ace Ava

· Singers Amy Stoner and Michael Penick

· The Hawkapellas, the University of Iowa's all-female a cappella group

Tickets are available by calling CCPA at 319-248-9370 or ordering online at www.coralvillearts.org.

Combined Efforts is an intrinsically inclusive visual and performing arts company with a mission of purposeful collaboration between artists with and without physical and mental challenges.
