DM Playhouse's Friday Funday Season to Continue with THE MITTEN, 2/12
Join the Des Moines Community Playhouse on Feb. 12 for "The Mitten." This story is part of the 2015-16 Friday Funday season, a creative participatory story theatre program for children ages 4-6. Performances are at the Playhouse, Friday, Feb. 12, at 9:30 AM, 10:45 AM, and 1:30 PM. Shows are approximately 45 minutes in length. Admission is $6 per person, adults and children. February's featured story is "The Mitten." "I don't want red mittens, I want white ones!" In this Clubhouse at the Playhouse favorite, a young child drops his mitten in the snow and does not realize it is missing. As woodland creatures seek warmth inside the mitten, it magically grows and grows!
Friday Funday performances are held monthly, September-May. Upcoming stories include "The Mitten," Feb. 12; "Rapunzel," May 4; "The Brave Little Tailor," Apr. 8; and "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," May 13.
The Playhouse is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the US. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
