DM Playhouse Presents JACK & THE BEANSTALK

Join the Des Moines Community Playhouse on Nov. 16, 2018, for Jack and the Beanstalk. This story is part of the 2018-19 season of Friday Funday, a creative participatory story theatre program for children ages 4-6. Performances are at the Playhouse, Friday, Nov. 16, at 9:30 AM, 10:45 AM, and 1:30 PM. Shows are 45 minutes in length. The performance at 10:45 AM will have audio description provided by IRIS. November's featured story is Jack and the Beanstalk. Take a boy, his mother, and a misunderstood giant. Throw in some magic beans and a cow. Did we mention there's a goose that lays golden eggs? Join us for this familiar tale, which tells us what happened according to the giant!

Friday Funday performances are held monthly, Oct. 2018-May 2019. This season features a wide variety of stories, including The Gingerbread Child, Dec. 14, 2018; The Golden Goose, Jan. 18, 2019; The Mitten, Feb. 8, 2019; Fin M'Coul, Mar. 1, 2019; Snow White, Apr. 12, 2019; and Goldilocks and the Three Bears, May 10, 2019.

The Playhouse, now in its 100th season, is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the US. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
