DM Playhouse Hosts Teen Improv Night 5/8
The Des Moines Playhouse is the home for Second Saturday, an alternative Saturday night entertainment for young people in grades 6 - 12. The next session of the 2009-10 Second Saturday season is at 7:30-10:00 PM, Saturday, May 8. Cost is $8. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, and

Now in its 17th year of theatre fun at The Playhouse, Second Saturday is an evening of sketch comedy and fast-paced games. Students, more than 100 each month from throughout the metro, work in groups according to age. While not a class or workshop, Second Saturday is planned and supervised by Playhouse education staff.
Second Saturday is held each month, September - May. The 2010-11 season schedule will be: Sept. 11, 2010; Oct. 9, 2010; Nov. 13, 2010; Dec. 11, 2010; Jan. 8, 2011; Feb. 12, 2011; Mar. 12, 2011; Apr. 9, 2011; and May 14, 2011.
The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
