The Civic Center of Greater Des Moines' Director of Marketing Barb Preuss was awarded the Outstanding Achievement in Road Marketing Award last week in New York City during The Broadway League's 2011 Spring Road Conference.

The Outstanding Achievement in Road Marketing Award was presented to Barb Preuss in honor of her dedication to the Willis Broadway Series for her creativity and collaboration to the success of Broadway productions at the Civic Center. She was also credited with being one of the first among road presenters to fully utilize social media in marketing shows and her direction of social media campaigns became models for presenters across the country.

Civic Center President & CEO Jeff Chelesvig praised Ms. Preuss for her innovation and leadership. He said, "We're very proud of Barb and her leadership within the Broadway community. I applaud her dedication to marketing professional theater in Central Iowa and her teamwork continually contributes to the overall success of the Civic Center."

First presented in 1992, the Broadway League Awards recognize the contributions of those who have displayed exemplary service to the Broadway industry and are considered innovators of their craft.
