City Circle Acting Company of Coralville will present the musical, Annie Get Your Gun on April 28-30 and May 5-7 at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts.

Annie Get Your Gun tells the fictionalized story of sharp-shooter Annie Oakley and her days as a performer in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. As she falls for Frank Butler, formerly the star shooter of the troupe, elements of the battle of the sexes come into play. With music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, book by Dorothy and Herbert Fields, and revised libretto by Peter Stone, this production is the 1999 Broadway revival version which won the Tony for Best Revival of Musical.

"This is a much improved show over the original 1946 version," said director Krista Neumann. "With a revised libretto and new orchestrations, this version is structured as a 'show-within-a-show'. This is classic Irving Berlin with songs that are part of the Great American Songbook." Neumann is impressed with her talented team, "I have a great production team and a really phenomenal cast. Audiences will leave the theatre entertained and singing these songs in the car on the way home." Jessica Palmer is the music director.

Performances are April 28,29 and May 5, 6 at 7:30 pm and April 30 and May 7 at 2:00 pm. Tickets to the show are $12-$27 and can be purchased online at coralvillearts.org or by calling 319.248.9370 or in person at the CCPA box office at 1301 5th Street and at the Coralville Recreation Center at 1506 8th Street.
