Theatre Aspen Names New General Manager

By:

Theatre Aspen Producing Director Jed Bernstein announced today that Daniel Benavent will be the company's new General Manager. Daniel will begin transitioning into his new role immediately.

"We are delighted to have found someone of Daniel's talent and experience, not to mention passion for the arts," Bernstein commented. "He will be an important part of the leadership team that takes Theatre Aspen to even greater success."

"I am very much looking forward to returning to Aspen in a year-round capacity and joining Theater Aspen as it embarks on its 35th anniversary season," Benavent commented. "As a passionate theatre-maker, and educator, I value the incredible contribution Theatre Aspen makes to the rich cultural life of the Roaring Fork Valley. I look forward to joining the entire company, staff, and board in continuing the tradition of excellence and fun!"

For the past eight years, Daniel Benavent has been a producer and administrator in New York and Aspen. Most recently, he served as the Managing Director of Theatrical Productions at the Manhattan School of Music and spent his summers as Program Administrator with the Aspen Opera Center at the Aspen Music Festival and School.

Mr. Benavent recently completed the New York Foundation for the Arts Emerging Leaders program and holds degrees from Indiana University (Bachelor of Arts), the Boston Conservatory (Master of Music) and New York University (Professional Certificate).

The 2018 Summer Season runs June 23rd through August 18th and includes Ragtime, Godspell, and Our Town. For the past 34 years, Theatre Aspen has been rekindling a sense of discovery in audiences who live in and visit the Roaring Fork Valley by producing big theatre in a small space with intimate storytelling. The 35th anniversary season promises to bring world class theatre dramatically closer.
