Theatre Aspen Launches Fall FUNdraiser

By:

Jed Bernstein, Producing Director of Theatre Aspen, announced today that the theatre will host a new fun-draising event this fall. Theatre Aspen's Fall Family Fun Fest will take place from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 20th and will bring Aspenites together for an afternoon of entertainment and friendly competition for all ages.

Groups of two to six people, related or not, can enter as a "family" and compete to win various prizes. The moniker "Best Costume" will be awarded to the family with the most impressive themed costume. The family with the most creative catchphrase will win "Best Slogan". The main event-a photo treasure hunt-will lead teams to iconic Aspen locations throughout the core. A "family" photo will mark the clue as solved, and the team with the most photos in forty-five minutes will win the grand prize.

"The Family Fun Fest will be a great way for Theatre Aspen to celebrate our town even after our performance season has ended," Bernstein said.

"Theatre Aspen wanted very much to launch an event for all Aspenites this fall," said event Co-Chair Clare Evert-Shane. "What a great way to socialize together on a beautiful afternoon!"

Registration is $500 per team and includes snacks, beverages, and goodie bags for each family. Theatre Aspen's premier show choir, The Miner Keys, will also perform. Funds raised at the event support Theatre Aspen's 2019 Summer Season and its year-round education programs.

For the past 35 years, Theatre Aspen has been rekindling a sense of discovery in audiences who live in and visit the Roaring Fork Valley by producing big theatre in a small space with intimate storytelling. The 2019 season promises to bring world class theatre dramatically closer.
