Laughin' and Cryin' with the Reverend Horton Heat, 1st album in 5 years

Reverend Horton Heat will release their first original studio effort in over 5 years September 1st on Yep Roc Records. Laughin' and Cryin' with the Reverend Horton Heat is the band's first (non-holiday) album since 2004s Revival.

Since 2004 the band has played to hundreds of thousands of screaming disciples all over the world. A relentless touring schedule has seen the band play over a thousand shows in that time span, all those sets picked from their classic catalog. This amazing testament to the near pathological zealotry of the Rev's fan base is about to be infused with new blood through the 14 new tracks on their latest studio effort.

Landing decidedly on the ‘billy' side of rockabilly, Laughin' and Cryin' was influenced by bandleader Jim Heath's love for mid-20th century country music and an open ear for what the band's legions of fans react to most. Over their 250+ shows a year RHH has frequently found that their more comical, every day takes on the world resonate loudest. Blue collars run deep in the Rev's audience and the stories contained on Laughin' and Cryin' are sure to ring true with the working stiffs that turn up in droves night after night to drink tumblers of whiskey and see one of the baddest guitar gods still roaming the great highways of the USA. The songs here are slice-of-life tales of men with bad habits, the women who love them (or try to, at least) and the laughing and crying that goes along with it.

The band will kick off a tour for the album with headlining dates in the US followed by a co-headline US tour with Motorhead getting underway 8/28 in Minneapolis. Check www.yeproc.com for complete dates.
