Denver Arts & Venues Presents Arts Education For All Forum, Part Of The IMAGINE 2020 Speaker Series

Together with A+ Colorado and Colorado Business Committee for the Arts, Denver Arts & Venues presents "Arts Education for All Forum," Wednesday, April 3, 4-8 p.m. at McNichols Civic Center Building (144 W. Colfax Ave.).

"Research tells us that a quality arts education prepares students with design, creative and critical thinking habits not only for their careers, but for a rich fulfilling life," said Van Schoales, President of A+ Colorado. "We must fuel Colorado's rapidly growing arts economy and the need for problem solvers in every economic sector by supporting great arts education for all students."

As part of Arts & Venues' successful IMAGINE 2020 Speaker Series, this event will focus on the importance of arts education for everyone, asking the questions: What could a commitment to arts education for all do for Colorado? How do we measure the impact of arts education? How can this inform practice?

Rick Griffith, partner and design director at MATTER (a full-service strategic design, typographic and communications consultancy) and former member of Denver's Commission on Cultural Affairs, will moderate the event. Confirmed panelists include Jane R. Best (Director, Arts Education Partnership), John-Claude Futrell (Education Director, RedLine Contemporary Art Center), Kristina Bad Hand (Chief Creative Director, áyA Studios LLC and Community Liaison, Indian Education, Jefferson County Public Schools), Carla Aguilar (Music Arts Consultant, Colorado Department of Education), and Sheila Sears (Deputy Director, Colorado Creative Industries.)

This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP at Eventbrite.com.
