For the third consecutive year, Creede Repertory Theatre's innovative educational program The KID Show has been recognized as one of 50 finalists for the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards. Creede is honored and humbled to be recognized again in this way for its achievements in the field of theatre education.

Out of 301 applications from across the country, The KID Show was selected along with 49 others, which distinguishes it as one of the top arts-and-humanities-based programs in the country.

The winning programs will be announced in June and winners will be awarded a $10,000 grant along with an invitation to attend the White House awards ceremony hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama.


2016 KID Show: Rodeo and Juliet

Now in its 14th season, The KID Show program will debut an original piece co-written and directed by Emily Van Fleet and Nathan Jones. Take Romeo and Juliet, throw in bull riders, clowns, and trapeze, and you get one imaginative masterpiece. Join us for three weeks of poetic storytelling! Download our signup form here. CRT Opens 51st Season with Theatre for Young Audiences

CRT's 2015 Young Audience Outreach Tour takes center stage this summer. Reading! And Other Superpowers opens our 51st season on May 14th, continuing a three-decade tradition of excellent, original theatre for young audiences. Reading! is an original, bilingual story that tells of the adventures of Nicolás, a young superhero in training. He is taught and assisted by a collection of colorful and larger-than-life characters. Will Nicolás hone his superpower in time to defeat his nemesis, the dreaded Captain Cliffnote? The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence Opens May 27th

A finalist for the 2014 Pulitzer Prize, Madeleine George's The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence is a boldy-theatrical techno-drama that explores the effect of technology on human relationships using the unexpected coincidence of famous Watsons through history (Sherlock Holmes' sidekick, Alexander Graham Bell's trusty engineer and IBM's supercomputer).
