The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center's Youth Repertory Theatre program, featuring local aspiring theatre arts students, present Celebrazione!, a lollapalooza of scenes and songs, at the SaG?Ji Theatre July 21-24.
The FAC's Youth Repertory Theatre program, currently in its 12th year, is one of the only conservatory-based theatre programs for high school students in the country and is the only professional training program for student actors and technicians in the Pikes Peak Region.Taught by a faculty which includes over a dozen professional theatre artists, the students in the program meet eight hours a day for five weeks and are introduced to all elements of the theatre including vocal performance, speech, audition/monologue work, various styles of dance, clowning, fight choreography, make-up and costume design, art history, etc.The students - 31 performance and eight tech students ages 14-18 - work together in a conservatory format to perform and design a performance filled with a cornucopia of scenes and songs from a myriad of theatrical works. The performance is the culmination of their hard work and includes musical numbers from Broadway favorites with scenes from world-renowned playwrights.· $15.00 for FAC members | $17.00 for non-members
