YERMA Comes To Danish National School Of Performing Arts
The third-year students at the Danish National School of Performing Arts (DDSKS) will present YERMA from May 23 to June 5 in Copenhagen.
According to the DDSKS website, YERMA is based on a 1934 poem by the Spanish poet Frederico García Lorca. He wrote a beautiful and tragic story about a young woman Yerma in her first years of marriage to Johan. Both want a child, yet the couple remains childless. Follow the tragic journey of the couple as they slide farther apart through conflict.
YERMA demonstrates that life does not always meet expectations and how easily dreams can be taken for granted.
