Joe DiPietro’s Over the River and Through the Woods is a play about family and, like anything about family, it includes comedy and a little drama. Nick (Terry Doane of Dover) is a nice young man who visits with his four Italian grandparents – played by John Zinzi (Milton), Chris Polo (Dover), John Marino (Lewes), and Patti Gatto (Dover) - for Sunday dinners. They would like to see him settle down and start a family of his own and are willing to do whatever they can to help him achieve their ends – plans that could include Caitlin O’Hare (Teresa Pierce of Dover). But Nick has some important news of his own now, and it may not be what his grandparents want to hear.

Directed by Mike Polo, assisted by Amy Bill and Bruce Leister, Over the River and Through the Woods opens Friday, June 16 at Kent County Theatre Guild’s Patchwork Playhouse at 8 PM, with additional evening (8 PM) performances on Saturday, June 17, Friday, June 23, and Saturday, June 24. Two Sunday matinee performances – June 18 and 25 – round out the presentation. Tickets are $18 for General Admission, $16 for Seniors, Military Members, and Students.
