Mount Pleasant High School was selected to represent the State of Delaware as part of the “The United States of Frozen” “Love is an Open Door” competition. A winner was selected in each of the 50 states and territories. Each winner was awarded the rights to perform up to 3 performances of “Disney's Frozen: The Musical" prior to the general release of licensing rights to the larger theatrical community! The nationwide competition called out to high schools to be the first in their state to produce Frozen in their local communities. Applicants were asked to describe their unique vision of Frozen and how they will use the theme “Love is an Open Door” as an opportunity to strengthen their school community, provide outreach to underserved groups, and support inclusive and diverse theatre programs. Based on the hit movie from 2013, Disney's Frozen: The Musical is the timeless tale of two sisters, pulled apart by a mysterious secret. As one young woman struggles to find her voice and harness her powers within, the other embarks on an epic adventure to bring her family together once and for all. Both are searching for love. They just don’t know how to find it. Featuring familiar songs like “For the First Time in Forever”, “Love is an Open Door”, “In Summer”, and the smash hit, “Let it Go", Disney's Frozen: The Musical is guaranteed to entertain children, teens, and adults.
