Sussexx Tech High School Stages GODSPELL
The Sussex Tech Drama Program will be performing GODSPELL, the musical, during the third weekend of February (14th - 17th) at the Clear Space Theatre in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Most recently revived on Broadway in 2011, GODSPELL follows the teachings and parables of Jesus Christ. Featuring an updated score and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, GODSPELL takes the audience along for the ride as the events of the Gospel of Matthew unfold on the stage. This show is about the joy of Jesus's teachings, the beauty of grace, and the eternal power of the community.
The show follows Jesus and the disciples as they forge a community of their own in the darkest of times and how that community bands together and moves forward, together, when their leader is gone. This story reawakens the joy of Jesus's teachings and presents them in hilarious and exciting ways that place the audience in the middle of the action. Featuring the timeless classic "Day By Day" and the new addition "Beautiful City", GODSPELL is sure to have audiences clapping along and dancing in the aisles.
Through the parables of Jesus, Godspell teaches and reminds us of the importance, of the necessity, and of the power of community.
Tickets will go on sale during all school lunches at Sussex Technical High School starting Monday, January 28th. Tickets reservations are available through email or purchased at the door on performance nights.
