Possum Point Players to Present SEE HOW THEY RUN, 6/6-15

Possum Point Players production of "See How They Run," will not only keep the audience laughing, but it just might clear up some age old questions such as the meaning of "One man's pyjamas is another man's night-shirt" or why did the Bishop get knocked down on to that marrow bed? Or maybe it won't clarify anything other than there will be ample reason for laughter June 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15 at Possum Hall in Georgetown.

It is obligatory for a respectable British comedy to have hurried and harried entrances and exits in and out multiple doors and windows. However, they don't usually require four men in clerical garb, all claiming to be the Vicar. "See How They Run" has these four plus a befuddled Bishop and a pious parishioner who innocently runs afoul of several shots of sherry. Put one pickled parishioner in a closet, add the Vicar in his skivvies and the Bishop who is expecting to see closeted kittens and the whole mix gets frothier and funnier.

The Vicar's wife may or may not know which collar-wearing cleric is her husband, and since she harkens back to her acting career, it may be hard to know when she's portraying herself or a favorite stage character. The young house maid drifts in and out with brandy and spare clothing as required, seeming a little daft, but she might have the clearest vision of the big picture. Once news of an escaped Russian spy circulates, as to be expected, a sergeant from the local constabulary makes his entrance and the issue of counting clerics and resolving the incidence of the Bishop in the marrow bed might be brought to conclusion. Or not.

Director Michael Murnin of Lewes promises theatre goers that, "See How They Run" is a "veddy, veddy British comedy that is a pure hoot."
