Delaware All-State Theatre Stages THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, Beg. Tonight

Delaware All-State Theatre, a not-for-profit theatrical organization, will present the multi-Tony Award? winning musical comedy, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE in the Laird Performing Arts Center at the Tatnall School for two weekends beginning tonight, June 20th.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE pays tribute to the Jazz-age shows of the 1920's, It capitalizes on its ability to transport audiences into a dazzling fantasy and to lift our spirits in times of sadness. A rare combination of unprecedented originality and blinding talent, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE boldly addresses a great unspoken desire in all of our hearts... to be entertained.

"We are fortunate to have so many über talented students performers participate in DAST," said Jeffrey Santoro, Founder/Director of Delaware All-State Theatre. "With this show, having comedic timing is crucial for a successful production. At each rehearsal I love watching our performers laugh and thoroughly enjoy the performances of their fellow cast-mates. Let's just say that they deliver comedy like seasoned pros! With its big dance numbers (including a rousing tap routine) and larger than life musical songs, this is not a show to be missed!"

Students being featured in principal roles include DUNCAN SMITH as Man in Chair, KAYLA SAUNDERS as Janet, BEN WALKER as Robert, CHRISTOPHER MALAFRONTI as Mr. Feldzieg, AMANDA DEFILIPPIS as Kitty, KEELIN REILLY as George, JORDAN MCMILLAN as Drowsy, JULIAN MANJERICO as Aldolpho, JAMESON MAY as Gangster 1, DECLAN BADO as Gangster 2, KAYLA BROCK as Trix, KATHLEEN COLLINS as Mrs. Tottendale (1st weekend), CLAIRE CAVERLY as Mrs. Tottendale (2nd weekend), CHRISTOPHER COOKE as Underling.

Rounding out the cast of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE includes a gifted ensemble including: MARGARET ACHENBACH, AMANDA BESTWICK, WILLIAM BROCK, JAMES CHRISTOPHER, ELIZA DURHAM, KATE HOLDEN, ABBY KAMEN, ANNA LANGREHR, KENNEDY LEIGHTON, LYNDIE MOE, REBEKAH RICHMOND, MERCEDEZ ROBINSON, WILLIAM ROTSCH, RYAN STOFA, WYATT THOMPSON, JACOB TRACEY, ANTHONY P. VINCENT, and MARK WORTH.

Schools represented include: Archmere Academy, Cab Calloway School for the Arts, Elkton High, Homeschool, Kennett High, Mount Pleasant High, Padua Academy, Red Lion Christian Academy, Salesianum, Saint Mark's High, The Sanford School, William Penn High, and Wilmington Friends School.
