CHRISTMAS BELLES to Open 12/6 at Possum Point Players
Experience the Christmas spirit "Southern-style" this year. The Possum Point Players will present Christmas Belles, a Southern holiday comedy by well-known playwrights Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten. These particular playwrights have a way of capturing the Southern experience. Their plays are full of heart and so funny.
Set in Fayro, Texas, Christmas Belles centers on the three Futrelle sisters - Frankie, Twink and Honey Raye - and an annual church Christmas program that spins hilariously out of control. It is about a journey through a misadventure-filled Christmas Eve - squabbling sisters, family secrets, a surly Santa, a vengeful sheep, and a reluctant Elvis impersonator. It's absurd, it's quirky, and it's definitely funny. But at the core, it's about family, love and acceptance - what the season is all about.
Honey Raye is played by Susan McCoy, Selbyville; Frankie by Julia Free, Seaford; and Twink by E. J. Panico also of Seaford.
Show dates are 7:30 PM Fridays, December 6 and 13, and Saturdays, December 7 and 14, and 2 PM Sundays, December 8 and 15, at Possum Hall, 441 Old Laurel Rd, Georgetown, DE 19947. Tickets are $23 for adults, $22 for students and seniors. Call (302) 856-4560 or visit http://www.possumpointplayers.org/.
The Possum Point Players' Third Annual Silent Auction will be held during the two Saturday shows (December 7 and 14) of Christmas Belles. Preview and pre-bidding will be held during the two Friday shows (December 6 and 13). These are two separate auctions with the highest bids being awarded each Saturday. New and different items will be up for bid on the second weekend.
