Victoria Theatre Association will present the December edition of the Mid-Day Arts Café lunches Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in the Mathile Theatre located in the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. This Mid-Day Arts Café offers an intimate preview of The Muse Machine’s production of The Wizard of Oz, which runs January 12-15, 2011 at the historic Victoria Theatre.

This hour of performance and lunch, provided by Citilites Restaurant, features a behind-the-scenes look and listen of the classic musical The Wizard of Oz. Mary Karr, Interim Executive Director, will kick off the lunch with a discussion about The Muse Machine’s presentation of this beloved show, followed by a performance of select songs from cast. The hour of entertainment will close with speakers Doug Merk, Producer, Director Rufus Bonds Jr., Choreographer Lula Elzy, and Music Director Tim Olt.

Mid-Day Arts Cafe is a series presented by the Victoria Theatre Association and offers a variety of performances from locAl Dayton arts groups. In cooperation with the Dayton Opera, Dayton Philharmonic, Muse Machine, Dayton Ballet, Zoot Theatre Company, FilmDayton, and The Human Race Theatre Company, VTA offers the chance for the local community to network with area arts lovers, view sneak peeks of upcoming performances and enjoy the opportunity to get out of the office for an enjoyable lunch time!

Tickets for the Mid-Day Arts Café include a delicious box lunch from Citilites Restaurant & Bar and a chance to network with fellow arts and culture lovers while Dayton’s incredible arts companies show off their talents, tell their stories, preview upcoming performances and answer your questions.
