The Human Race Theatre Company Announces the 2013-2014 Eichelberger Loft Season
The Human Race Theatre, Dayton's only professional regional theatre company, will launch its 27th season with a richly diverse 5-play combination of productions on its Eichelberger Loft Series. "The season brings together some longtime contenders and some new works that just bubbled to the top of our list," says Producing Artistic Director Kevin Moore. "I'm very excited about this collection of shows and eager to explore the theme - family in change - that runs through each of them."
The 2013-2014 season includes Becky's New Car, a mid-life comedic crisis; Fiddler on the Roof, a classic musical tradition; Torch Song Trilogy, a ground-breaking cultural milestone; Other Desert Cities, a revealing family drama; and Play It by Heart, a new country legend.
The five plays will perform in The Loft Theatre, The Human Race's intimate 212-seat downtown performance space, located in the Metropolitan Arts Center at 126 North Main Street. Each production is scheduled for a three-week run, with a number of associated special events: a Thursday night preview performance, preceded by the Inside Track discussion with the director; Friday Opening Night with a post-show party with the cast in The Loft Lobby; Lite Fare at The Loft, Tuesday night pre-show dining in The Loft Lobby, with food items provided by Citilites Restaurant; a While We're on the Subject talkback following a Sunday matinee; and a Saturday night signed and audio-described performance opportunity.
Subscriptions are available in 3-, 4- and 5-show packages, as well as in Flex Pass plans. Package prices range from $81 - $160, and discounted subscriptions are available for students. New subscribers will be seated starting May 7. Single tickets go on sale beginning August 6.
